Dr. David Melendez is a licensed Chiropractor serving the coastal North County of San Diego, Cardiff by 
the Sea since 1990. After overcoming his own chronic health and spinal problems through chiropractic care, Dr. Melendez was inspired to become a chiropractor himself and continue to set other people free of pain, sickness and ill health. He Graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles in 1989 and a year later opened Gold Coast Chiropractic Center in Cardiff by the Sea with his wife Dr. Lorraine Melendez. Dr. David specializes in the Pettibon System of Chiropractic Spinal Correction and Rejuvenation which decompresses the spine , restoring disc height, posture and spinal alignment predictably. This unique and dynamic system brings hope and restoration of health to those whom standard medical treatment and ordinary chiropractic care have proved insufficient. For the past 20 years Dr. David's compassion and knowledge have helped thousands of patients heal naturally, from children to adults to professional athletes, and everyone in between.
When I chose to study chiropractic, my main motivation was to share a practice with my father, whose decision to become a chiropractor was prompted by receiving tremendous benefits from chiropractic care after a serious health diagnosis. His enthusiasm for chiropractic and positive example of taking charge of his own health sparked my interest and fed my passion to follow in his footsteps.
I did not get a chance to work with my father — his illness advanced to the point where he was no longer able to practice. But when I finished my education I told him that I would be his hands, and my husband and I opened Gold Coast Chiropractic in his honor. I feel his spirit and passion with me every day as I continue his dream and vision.
My father’s example of perseverance in spite of adversity has taught me to never give up. It is my passion to instill this attitude in all my patients, which is why I believe in empowering you to take charge of your own health. In fulfilling his dream I fulfill my own dream to serve others with hope and healing. Dr. Lorraine Melendez graduated from the Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles, where she also met her future husband, in 1989. She and Dr. David Melendez have operated Gold Coast Chiropractic in North County San Diego since 1990. She has three wonderful children who were all born at home and keep her very busy.
